2014 Fontanabianca Langhe Nebbiolo DOC

  • "Nebbia" is Italian for fog.  This native varietal is at home in the Langhe region of Piemonte where it has become a renown classic used to craft the finest classic reds.  Matteo Pola has crafted this classic Langhe red from mature estate vineyards with an average age of 12 years.  Following a temperature controlled vinification, the wine is aged 6 months in French oak barriques prior to bottling.

This young classic delivers aromas of violets and fresh berries with a hint of spice.  The palate is clean and fresh with hints of raspberry, red cherry, spice and leather.  The finish is complex with a pleasing balance of tannins and acidity. Drink now or cellar.  Best 2016-2025.

Pair with roasted red or white meats, cured meats, and bold cheeses.

    Best served at 63-65 degrees
