2016 Le Marognole Amarone "CampoRocco" DOCG

  • The winemaker hand selects the classic Valpolicella varietals -Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara – from their estate “CampoRocco” vineyard that faces the sunset at 300 meters above sea level. The choicest grapes are gently placed in wooden racks and allowed to rest for 3 to 4 months. After pressing, the free run juice is subjected to slow, low temperature fermentation for nearly 60 days. Finally the wine is racked into French Oak barrels where fermentation is completed. The result is Amarone- a bold but elegant wine with intense complexity and a long, smooth finish. Complex berry aromas give way to hints of cherry, spice, and black currant.

Pair this wine with ripe cheeses, grilled meats, or pasta with meat sauces. This is an excellent “meditation” wine.

    Perfectly served at 64-65 F.
