2013 Macchie S. Maria Irpinia Aglianico "Optio" DOC

  • Winemaker Oreste De Santis crafted this traditional red wine from 15 year old vines 300-450 meters above sea level. Following fermentation, Oreste refines the wine for 12 months in French oak barriques. This spicy, full-bodied red presents dark ruby red hues in the glass and delivers rich aromas of black cherry and tobacco on the nose. The wine will land on the palate with hints of black cherry, spice, and plum. Drink now or hold. Best 2019-2025.

Enjoy this wine with red meats, game, and dry cheeses. Best served at 65F in a large format glass.
