2013 Zucchetto Prosecco Cartizze DOCG

  • Simply Elegant!

Cartizze is the most prestigeous cru in the Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG area. A very small area, approximately 270 acres, these vineyards lying between the steepest hills of San Pietro di Barbozza and Santo Stefano in Valdobbiadene county. In the "Cartizze Alto" vineyards there's a perfect combination of exposure, morainic, and sandstone soil which allows a rapid drainage of rain water. The incredibly steep slope of the hillside provides natural protection from the elements. All these factors result in prosecco grapes that produce a unique and truly sumptuous sparkling wine. Impressions of white peach and apricot, with a hint of apple, accompany a silky, smooth, lingering finish with hints of glazed almonds.

This sparkling is the perfect conclusion to an important dinner, with desserts, from short pastries to fruit tarts and sweetened focaccia (flat soft bread). It's an excellent match with cheeses, and it also surprisingly pairs with shellfish, such as lobster, crab and sea scallops.

    Perfectly served at 43/44 °F.
