This savory Italian Merlot is crafted from 100% estate grown fruit from the vineyards the family's Campo di Pietra Villa. Ornella Molon and Giancarlo Traverso were some of the first to grow Merlot in the Veneto's Piave River Basin. The rich soils near the Piave River and the climate from the Adriatic make this district ideal for this varietal. Clusters of green fruit are dropped to ensure maximum maturation of the remaining fruit. The grapes are handpicked at full maturation and fermented in wooden vats, and then transferred to French Oak barriques for 15 months of refining and another 12 months in bottle prior to release.

This lush red has earned the title of "house red" or Rosso di Villa. The wine shows a deep, ruby red color in the glass and delivers aromas of mature fruits, coffee, and chocolate. The mouthfeel is lush, full and round with hints of mature cherry and dark currants.

Enjoy this wine with game, roasted red meats and mature cheeses. Serve at 65F in a large format glass.
