Ornella Molon and Giancarlo Traverso both come from a deep heritage and love of farming. They combined their winemaking efforts in 1998 and they now produce wines under two labels—Ornella Molon and Vigna Traverso. The Ornella Molon winery and family villa are located in the village of Campodipietra di Salgareda, near Treviso. You will also find Osteria Molon on the property, adjacent to the villa. The osteria is a meeting place for local families and any passerby’s who are looking to enjoy great food, personally prepared by Ornella in the cucina, and paired with great wines. The vineyards occupy 40 hectares and are located in the Venezia district, in the plains along the Piave River, southeast of Treviso. Vigna Traverso is located in Prepotto, near Udine, in the Colli Orientali district, and occupies 16 hectares. The district is world renown for producing some of the most fragrant fruit and wines with great structure.
The entire family is fully involved in the business. GianCarlo and his son, Stefano, are the winemakers and oversee all aspects of the vineyards and the production process, while son, Alex, is focused on sales and marketing.

Vigna Traverso Pinot Grigio – Giancarlo and Stefano crafted this classic Pinot Grigio from 100% fruit harvested from their vineyards in the Colli Orientali district, renown for its terrior and producing world-class white wines. This white shows bright, golden yellow hues in the glass and delivers fresh floral aromas with hints of fresh pear and apple. A soft, well-balanced landing on the palate gives way to a lingering, crisp finish. This wine pairs ideally with ham, fresh cheeses, shellfish, and fish. Best served at 50 degrees F. Only 30 cases imported. |
