The Domaine is located in the commune of Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, 15 minutes from Aix-en-Provence, in the heart of Provence between the Luberon and the Mediterranean Sea, on the Provence Wine Route. Domaine Tour Campanet reveals hidden treasures and a rich history. An ancient Gallo-Roman villa lies on the west side of the estate, a chapel from the same period to the east, a mausoleum of Roman dignitaries. A Gothic stele (hand-carved stone structures) from the 12th century, a medieval watchtower, and two sarcophagi (stone coffins) from the 4th and 12th centuries, were also discovered amidst a canvas of shards of crockery and ceramics.
The former estate once belonged to Jacques Blanc de Castillon Seigneur de Bois Vert in the 17th century. The winery was constructed in 1966 inside an architecturally bold tower. The “tower” or “Tour” in French, once housed a large bell, or “Campana” in Latin, that was used to call the workers in from the vineyards for lunch. Hence the Domaine was named “Domaine Tour Campanet”.
In 2012, the Domaine was taken over by Gérard BAUDE and daughter, Emmanuelle, began pursuit of her passion for integrating the terroir, land, and vines to produce exceptional wines of Provence. She devoted herself to rejuvenating the vineyards and blending the many grape varieties found on the estate into wines that reflected the rich terroir and history of the vines. Today, Emmanuelle produces wines of great finesse and quality, organically grown with the greatest respect for her terroir.
