Tenuta Fontenuova is a family-run winery whose vineyards are located in the municipality of Montepulciano, the area of excellence for “Prugnolo Gentile” (the local name for Sangiovese). In 2012, Giuseppe Raspanti fulfilled his dream of starting his own quality wine production, drawing on the teachings of his grandfather (whom he is named after) and his father Francesco, who had introduced him from a young age to viticulture and a love for wine. Today, the eight hectares of vineyards are worked together with his two sisters, Maria Pia and Elisa, and his wife Serena, renewing the family’s commitment to producing the renowned Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, one of Tuscany’s great wines.
In the vineyard, in addition to the aforementioned Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also grown. In the cellar, stainless steel and wood are used, as well as modern concrete tanks, allowing for even more precise control of cleanliness and temperature. Giuseppe combines the artisanal skills from his grandfather and father with modern innovation to create some of the finest wines in the Montepulciano district.
