Peter Wachtler and his family founded Taschlerhof and vineyards near Bressanone in the South Tyrol, the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, or Alto Adige, region of Italy. The hillside vineyard in the Isarco Valley surrounds the house where Peter was born. Every day he watched his father work their vineyards, and they sold their fruit to nearby producers. Peter attended agricultural school and in 2000, he decided to become an independent winemaker, overseeing every phase of production from cultivating the grapevines, to the pressing and marketing of the wine. Today the vineyards cover a surface area of 5.5 hectares. Peter combines natural growing methods with his passion and pride for his lands to produce South Tyrol varietal wines with unmistakable quality. They produce approximately 45,000 bottles annually.
