2011 Fontanabianca Barbaresco Bordini DOCG

  • The “Bordini" vineyard of Nebbiolo for Barbaresco, with southern exposure, is located in the commune of Neive. Winemakers Aldo Pola and Bruno Ferro hand selected the finest Nebbiolo fruit from Bordini to produce this classic Barbaresco.

This is a full-bodied, complex red wine that brings intense floral perfume to the nose with hints of violets and spices, lands softly on the palate with red currants and plums, then brings a long and elegant finish. "The 2010 Barbaresco Bordini proved delightful and full of surprises. The bouquet is packed tight with menthol tones followed by licorice, cassis, balsam notes and a touch of teriyaki smoke. This is an expressive and communicative wine that presents the Nebbiolo grape in an opulent and full-bodied style"...M.L. at Robert Parker.  Appreciate it now, or cellar for 15-20 years.
