2011 Sobrero Barolo Ciabot Tanasio DOCG (WS 90)

  • This legacy wine from the Sobrero Family is named after their original home in the vineyards. “Ciabot” means “small house” in Piedmontese dialect. The “Ciabot” was in the middle of nebbiolo vineyards and it was where they made the tools used in the vineyards.

Flavio Sobrero selects the finest fruit from three prestigious vineyards to make this classic Barolo. The wine is aged for 24 months in oak botti varying in size form 25 to 50 hectoliters prior to bottling.

This elegantly soft Barolo shows a dark ruby appearance in the glass. The nose is heady, releasing complex aromas of spice, plum, leather, licorice and cocoa powder. The wine lands softly on the palate with an impressive balance of dark fruits and soft tannins, then finishes long with notes of black cherry and dark plums.

Enjoy this wine with roasted red meats, pot roast, and game.

    Best enjoyed at 65 degrees.
