2011 Cantalici Super Tuscan "Tangano" IGT

This SuperTuscan is a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet fruit hand selected and hand picked from estate vineyards. Cold maceration and alcoholic fermentation takes places in steel tanks. A second malolactic fermentation occurs in French oak barriques for the Cabernet and Merlot and stainless steel tanks for Sangiovese. Following blending the wine is aged 18 months in French oak barriques. The wine shows brightly intense deep ruby color with red garnet reflections around the rim. Rich aromas of ripe plum and black fruits greet the nose, and generous, full-bodied black currant and plum notes land on the palate. Well-balanced ripe tannins and acidity provide for a long fruit finish. Enjoy this big red with pasta dishes with red sauces, roasted red meats, game and bold, ripe cheeses.
