Exquisite! This single vineyard designate from the family's Balluccio cru delivers everything that you would expect from the best Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. Andrea and Matteo hand selected the finest bunches of fruit from Balluccio, tightly controlled the fermentation below 16C for 8 months in stainless steel, then aged the wine for an additional 4 months in the bottle. The high total residual acidity of 5.8 g/l not only provides for a crisp, clean finish, but it also allows this white to be age worthy. Cellar this wine for 3-5 years and you will note the riesling-like qualities. Golden yellow in color, this very dry white delivers hints of white flowers, sage, sweet almonds and licorice on the nose and a full-bodied, velvety finish on the palate. Best enjoyed very cold at 45-50F in a large format glass. Pair with fish dishes, fried seafood, pasta in olio (spaghetti vongole), mild cheeses and light first courses.
